In Ku-ring-gai ten Councillors make up the Council's Leadership Team composed of two elected councillors from each of the five wards pictured on the left.
Ku-ring-gai ratepayers deserve representatives that are listening to all members of the community, are accessible, visible, responsive and pro-active. We want our voices represented in the political process and not just with the vested interest groups that so often have their needs met at the expense of the environment and a large section of the community.
Voices of Ku-ring-gai are excited at the prospect of having representatives on Council that work with integrity, have a strong moral compass, and are prepared to show leadership in the face of pressure from vested interest groups.
At Voices of Ku-ring-gai, we believe in candidates who are committed to the principles that reflect the values and aspirations of our community will be most effective in their roles. We stake a firm stance against the installation of synthetic field and will support Councillors to develop and maintain natural turf fields.
Beyond this, to reflect community wishes our councillors need to
demonstrate a dedication to protecting the natural environment of Ku-ring-gai, upholding integrity in local government decision-making, ensuring that community voices are not only heard but actively acknowledged, and inspiring the next generation to engage in community and political affairs.

To ensure accountability and transparency in our council’s decision-making, I propose the following:
Question 3:
If elected to council, what strategies will you employ or support to ensure that all community members have a genuine
opportunity to contribute to council decisions?
Bridging the Gap Between Council and Community
One of the frustrations I’ve heard from residents is that they only hear from their councillor during election time. This needs to change.
I propose Regular Community Engagements. I believe that Ward councillors should be more accessible and proactive in engaging with the
community. To facilitate this, I propose holding regular community reach-out events—at least once per quarter.
These events would
serve as an opportunity to update residents on council matters, as well as to receive valuable feedback on community concerns.
This ongoing dialogue will help ensure that our councillors are truly representing the interests of the community, not just during
elections, but throughout their entire term.
This version conveys your commitment to improving communication and making sure councillors stay connected with the community
year-round.

We need to preserve the leafy character of Ku-ring-gai. This term I've worked hard to protect trees on private property and plant more
trees on Council land. Next term we need to work with the state govt for better planning outcomes, encourage private residents to plant
and protect our native ecosystems, and optimise Council assets for tree coverage
Question 2:
If elected to council, what specific measures will you implement or support to promote transparency and integrity in local
government decision-making?
We need structural, systemic and cultural focus on customers, including maximum transparency. The new GM is transforming Council
- we need to follow through and hold him accountable.
Question 3:
If elected to council, what strategies will you employ or support to ensure that all community members have a genuine
opportunity to contribute to council decisions?
All our processes and policies need to include effective and efficient customer engagement. We need a new strategic plan, community
participation plan, and improved community engagement in every department

Question 1:
If elected to council, what actions will you take or support to protect and enhance the natural environment in Ku-ring-gai?
Ku-ring-gai, the 'Green Heart,
' is losing tree canopy rapidly due to land clearing, misuse of the 10/50 rule, overdevelopment, and
ignorance of our ecosystem's value. We live amongst six endangered ecological communities, including two critically endangered
ones. I am committed to conserving our environment for current and future residents by keeping community land in our hands,
restoring the environment, encouraging rewilding projects, asking for harsher penalities for people who are tree vandals and work with
Council employees to educate our community on the value of our precious ecosystem.
Question 2:
If elected to council, what specific measures will you implement or support to promote transparency and integrity in local
government decision-making?
The best way to ensure integrity is to have it. I've worked hard on my integrity by making decisions aligned with values that benefit our
community and our natural world. If elected I will listen to a variety of voices and make decisions based on what will achieve the best
outcome for our people, flora and fauna.
Question 3:
If elected to council, what strategies will you employ or support to ensure that all community members have a genuine
opportunity to contribute to council decisions?
The consultation process at Ku-ring-gai Council is flawed. Residents often face pseudo-consultations with decisions already made.
Recently, 72% of supposed support for a project came from non-residents, while a petition from 1,700 locals was ignored. If elected, I
will ensure a fair, transparent consultation process.
