  2. Supporting Value-Aligned Candidates: We support candidates whose ideas and actions align with our community values, regardless of their political affiliations.
  3. Providing Independent Information: We offer unbiased information about council-level policies and stances, aiding informed community decisions.
  4. Legal Compliance: Our actions comply with the NSW Associations Act, ensuring lawful operations. As a non-registered charity, we operate with flexibility, focused on community interests.
  5. Transparent Operations: Our communication charter is a commitment to clarity and transparency in our operations and decision-making processes.

Our Core Principles

  1. Facilitation Over Negotiation: We facilitate communication between the community and the Municipal Council, ensuring diverse community voices are heard.
  2. Accurate Community Representation: We impartially reflect the community's views, presenting a balanced perspective to the Council.
  3. Fact-Checking and Verification: All information is rigorously verified, maintaining credibility and trust.
  4. Open Communication: We engage stakeholders with regular updates and clear communication channels, fostering transparency.
  5. Responsive Feedback Integration: We value and integrate community and council feedback, adapting our strategies for effective service.

Engagement with our community

  1. Objective Information Gathering: We strive to objectively collect information from all stakeholders on community issues.
  2. Executive Review of Communications: All community communications are reviewed and approved by our executive committee for accuracy and relevance.
  3. Reference and Fact-Checking: Communications will include formal references where possible, emphasising our commitment to accuracy and fact-checking.
  4. Distinguishing Opinions from Facts: Opinions are clearly identified and still adhere to accuracy standards.
  5. Accuracy in Personal References: Communications involving individual names undergo thorough verification, and where possible, individuals approve the content.
  6. Respectful Engagement: We listen attentively and treat all individuals with respect, regardless of differing opinions.
